Free Mulch
The City has free mulch available for public pickup at the City's compost facility (former landfill) on Summit Street. The high quality mulch, which has not been treated or dyed, was made from tree limbs and leaves picked up over the past year by the City.

City crews will be available to load mulch into residents' pick-up trucks and or trailers from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon each Saturday in May, while supplies last. Residents unable to pick up mulch during the scheduled loading dates and times are permitted to use their own loading and hauling equipment at their convenience. The Donut Dash 5K Run-Walk-Hobble-Crawl-Roll-Twitch

The Donut Dash is a unique event, where your ability to eat donuts is just as important as your ability run fast. The race is unlike any other! While racing you will visit two 'donut stops' along the 3.1 mile course and eat donuts. For each donut the runner eats during race they have 2 minutes deducted from their finish time.

There are awards for donut adjusted time in age group categories, the most donuts eaten, overall fast times and  the coveted golden Donut Dash championship belt for the best adjusted 'donut time” .This donut race is meant to be fun, and include all athletes.

While the event is technically a 'race' very few consider it a serious competition, remember this is all in fun! We doubt the next Olympic champion will have Donut Dash Champion listed on his resume, so eat some donuts and run as fast or slow as you wish.
